Back to the river to say goodbye

It was never about measuring, losing, conquering
It was always a way in

Get in and be stained with the river's mud:
The juices of life
Be forgotten, be lost, be cuddled
Be loved, be changed
All you will ever carry is you
And rest assured: you will be changed

You may choose to throw yourself down its course
Or fight change and hold on to your old shape
But it will never do

Life, like this river, will flow to the sea
It will inevitably smash any obstacle
So try to dam it at your own folly!
You will need tons of concrete and willpower
And even then, you may buy yourself another fleeting heartbeat
And all for what?

Life -like the ocean- will tumble you around
And rigidity will simply not do
There's no answer but to flow
And one day fade away
Or maybe burst into flames
And be gone

Make peace with that
Make it as beautiful as you can
What else would make any sense?
